What an expensive ridiculous waste of money day! Mommy and daddy BOTH got nailed for speeding tickets on the way home from work today. They had a speed trap set up on the main route they both drive home. Daddy got busted first. Then about 10 minutes later mommy got nailed and had to pull over ... right behind daddy.

They both sat humbly shaking their heads at the table tonight. Guess that means there's gonna be a spending curb put on the checkbook. So much for expecting any new squeaky toys for awhile.

We're alive! We're alive! We know it may not seem like it since we've been gone FOREVER! But life has been a little crazy around our household. Mom went and had herself a little baby girl and it seems we've been bumped down a few ranks on the priority totem pole.

Alas, things are finally starting to settle down now and we actually like our new baby sis - even if she is more like a blob of drooling flesh and doesn't do much. I'm sure we will be hiding for our lives as soon as the little stinker gets mobile and comes after our tails!

Anyways, we'll try to stay a bit more current and keep you posted on the new and exciting adventures around our house as the little princess grows up and turns into a dog terrorizer.

Life has been a little hectic around here lately so we haven't had much time to get on the computer and keep everyone updated. Mommy and daddy have been working real hard to sell daddy's house and they finally did it! That will be one less thing to worry about.

We've had contractors over constantly working on fixing up the house. They got a little over ambitious and decided to take on the basement and the upstairs at the same time. The house pretty much looks like a war zone. The framing and plumbing is finally finished and the next item on the agenda is the wiring. Soon we will be close to sheetrocking.

Then, as if that wasn't enough already, we just got the news that our days of being the spoiled only babies in the household will be changing. Apparently mommy and daddy will be adding a new human member to the family this Spring. We still aren't too sure how we feel about this yet. We'll keep you posted as the whole story progresses.

Until later, have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving holiday. We can't wait for all the leftovers!!

Well the state fair is over and Fall has officially begun. The temperatures this week are only supposed to be in the 50s for highs. That's almost cause to break out the ridiculous looking doggie sweaters that mom has for us. She did turn the heated blanket back on though. That keeps things nice and cozy in the doggie condo.

Contractors are here creating all sorts of ruckus in the basement. They are putting in walls. Mommy finally decided to finish off the basement and put carpet in there so we can run around like mad without slipping and sliding on the hardwood floors. It should be fun.

The street people brought us grass! No more big piles of dirt and dust flying everywhere. The streets are lined with green grass once again. We should also be getting a couple new trees here pretty soon. It will be so nice to be done with this street project. It has made for a long, messy summer.

Drugs are a good thing. Yesterday was quite spectacular in the form of a good ol fashion midwest thunderstorm. Bright lightening, loud thunder, and pooring rain. We had a new river in our basement ... that was interesting. Sweetie can't quite handle the excitement so mommy drugged her up with some Prednisone. That stuff rocks! She was walking around the house completely stoned the rest of the night. To make it even better, mommy pumped her full of Benedryl for her allergy attacks so she was one doped up pup. It was quite entertaining for me.

I imagine the next two weeks will be more of the same as the State Fair is right next door and they light off fireworks everynight. She doesn't like those either. Guess I'll be the only coherent dog in the house this week. Maybe I can trick her into a bunch of stuff. Mwaa haa haa ...

The campers have moved in. This can only mean the state fair is right around the corner. We are so not ready for it! We need to start getting our vocal cords in shape so we will be prepared for the constant barking and howling at all the people traffic that will be coming by.

Sweetie really needs to get healthy by then or I'll be doing all the barking by myself! The silly girl seems to have had a major run-in with allergies and can't stop sneezing all day long. She scares the crap out of me when she does it too because her whole body shakes and stuff comes flying out her nose. It's gross.

At least they got the first layer of pavement down on our new streets so the dust won't be quite as bad. I wonder what the newest thing on a stick will be this year?

101 degrees. That's what they said the temp got to yesterday. It was hot. We stayed in the house all day in the air conditioning. Lots of activity in our neighborhood with the street construction project. Last week they put the new curbs in. Today they are putting in the new pavement - that stuff is stinky!! The pavement will be very nice. We've had gravel roads for the past month now and the entire house is covered in a layer of dust. Hopefully they will get all of this done just in time for the state fair!

HOT HOT HOT!! Yowsers has this weather been something else. We are so incredibly thankful that mommy and daddy got the new central air conditioning hooked up just in time! This is almost like winter where we run outside just to do our business and then back in the house as fast as we can get there. It's not just us either. The entire neighborhood is hibernating inside their air conditioned houses. Pretty quiet out there.

This weekend we are heading up north to grandma D's house to hang out with her brat dogs and chill out. Mommy and daddy are busy getting everything ready for the trip. The only real bad thing about it is the 6 hour car ride! It gets to be a long day. We'll post back on our adventures when we return. Have a great weekend!

This morning was quite the adventure. The road crew strikes again! Mommy went out to leave for work and the road was gone. It was dug down about 5 feet so there was no backing out of the garage without destroying the car. As she sat in bewilderment trying to figure out how to get to work, 2 big burly construction guys asked if she needed to get out ... uh yes please!

So they get the big ol front end loader and start scooping up massive amounts of dirt and gravel and start piling it where the driveway used to be. After about 15 minutes or so they had created a little strip of dirt about 3 feet wide and said they would help direct her. Mommy carefully started backing out the car with the guidance of the construction guys and managed to have just enough room to clear the garage and cut through the alley. Then off to work she went ...

Cohabitation is an interesting concept. When you've lived alone as long as we have, it takes awhile to get accustomed to having another person in the house. Daddy finally moved in over the weekend so last night was the first work night that both mommy and daddy were here. Our place on the bed has been taken over and we keep getting shoved around. It is hard to sleep when you have 2 humans tossing and turning and throwing you all over the place.

To make matters worse ... daddy likes to get up early. Real early. We like mommy's schedule better - she's a late sleeper. So daddy gets up at some ridiculous hour of the morning (the sun hadn't even broke through yet) and proceeds to make a ton of racket throughout the house. How is a dog supposed to fall back asleep? By the time he came back in the bedroom to give mommy a kiss goodbye we'd had enough. We let him know what we thought of this new arrangement with a good couple barks and growls - which mommy did not appreciate.

By the time mommy got up and left for work we were happy to have the house to ourselves again. We need to get some sleep! I wonder how long it will take to get used to the new arrangements ...
